Ministerial Instructions 85 (MI85): Parents and Grandparents

New Ministerial Instructions for the 2025 calendar year replace the previous Ministerial Instructions that came into effect on January 1, 2025 (MI84). These instructions provide authority to accept into processing up to 25,000 applications in the 2025 calendar year. This 25,000 application number includes applications to be accepted into processing that were a part of the 2024 intake as well as 10,000 new applications to be accepted into processing that are a part of the 2025 intake.
