Family class and spouse or common-law partner in Canada class as per paragraphs R295(1)(a) and R301(1)(a)

The fees are as follows:

  • sponsor (per application): $85
  • principal applicant, including a conjugal partner with respect to the sponsor: $545

Please note the exceptions that follow:

  • principal applicant less than 22 years of age, not a spouse or common-law partner and described in paragraph R117(1)(b) or (f) to (h): $85
  • accompanying dependent spouse or common-law partner of a principal applicant: $635
  • accompanying dependent child who meets the criteria set out under section R2: $175
  • sponsored child (principal applicant) 22 years of age or older, and has depended substantially on the financial support of the parent since before the age of 22 and is unable to support themselves financially due to a physical or mental condition: $545

Cost recovery fees are payable for processing an application for a permanent residence or a sponsorship undertaking

  • if the application is made by a person as a member of the family class R295(1)(a) and
  • if the application is made by a person as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class R301(1)(a)
