New instructions are available for the temporary facilitative measures for those affected by the 2 separate chemical explosions that caused catastrophic damage to the Port of Beirut, Lebanon, on August 4, 2020.
The explosions resulted in a reported 170 to 200 casualties, injuries to approximately 6,000 people and damage to more than 300,000 homes.
On August 13, 2020 and on behalf of the Government of Canada, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship and the Minister of Foreign Affairs set up a task force to provide support to Canadian citizens, permanent residents and their families.
