The instructions have been reformatted to put the Eligibility requirements section at the top for easier reference by officers.
In addition, the following changes have been made:
- The Eligibility requirements section was updated to include the following new codes as options for section 9 of the CSQ when it’s submitted with the work permit application:
- IU – Préposé aux bénéficiaires – Volet travailleur étranger
- IR – Préposé aux bénéficiaires – Volet diplômé du QC
- IX – Travailleur – Transformation alimentaire
- IV – Intelligence artificielle – Volet travailleur étranger
- IW – Intelligence artificielle – Volet diplômé du QC
- IS – Travailleur – TI – Effets visuels
- Temporary residents in Canada who meet the eligibility requirements of an active public policy and of this Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exemption may now apply.
- The instructions related to spouses and common-law partners were removed. Officers must refer to the Spouses or common-law partners of CSQ holders instructions for guidance related to spousal open work permits. Spouses and common-law partners are eligible for an open work permit under the LMIA exemption code C41.
