The IEC Program recognizes a number of organizations that provide support and facilitate travel and work abroad services between Canada and other countries, for a fee, to both Canadians going abroad and foreign nationals coming to Canada. Their services may include support in areas such as arranging transportation, assisting with finding employment or securing accommodations. These recognized organizations are either Canadian organizations that may have partners overseas or international organizations with a Canadian office.
The program delivery instructions have been updated to reflect the list of organizations that were recognized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in 2018.
The changes are summarized as follows:
- the types of services recognized organizations offered have been updated
- Memorial University of Newfoundland has been removed as a recognized organization
- two new recognized organizations have been added: International Internship Network (IIN) and Languages Canada
- the name and descriptions of the following recognized organizations have been updated:
- AIESEC Canada
- GO International (previously Go International Work and Travel Providers)
- International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE)
- International Rural Exchange / A-Way to Work
- the language in the repeat participations and discontinuance requirements section now includes details on how the IEC program counts participation
