A digital nomad is a person who earns their living working online from various locations outside their country of permanent residence.
As they are not entering the Canadian labour market, they may enter as visitors and reside where they like for up to six months.

Digital nomads can work in Canada while on tourist status, either for themselves, or employers outside Canada.
The Department is promoting the entry of digital nomads on our website now, and considering whether to expand this promotion.
Supplementary information
As one of the pillars of the Tech Talent Strategy, announced in June 2023, the goal of this initiative is to encourage interaction between high-skilled digital nomads and Canadian employers who might wish to offer employment.
For many years, Canada has welcomed thousands of digital nomads, who can enjoy cultural and recreational activities while they work for themselves or employers outside the country.
As with all temporary residents, a digital nomad in Canada may apply for a work permit if they find a Canadian employer.
