We are modernizing our services and digital tools so people can get what they need faster and more easily.
Our Digital Platform Modernization is a long-term plan to build a digital-first immigration system—think moving from a flip phone to a smartphone, while protecting and improving program integrity.
We are delivering real results, incrementally:
Adults can now renew passports online. Over 87% of users are satisfied, and it saves time for Canadians and staff.
Clients were able to test a digital visa during a pilot last winter. It worked well, so we are moving to implement it to make travel to Canada easier and strengthen integrity.
We are now proactively releasing reasons for temporary resident application refusals, improving transparency and reducing Access to Information and Privacy requests.
Contracts were awarded through open, competitive processes using Public Services and Procurement Canada supply arrangement with pre-qualified suppliers.
Additional funds accessed via the Treasury Board submissions fits within the $827M envelope approved in Budget 2021.
