As of March 25, 2025, you must use the IRCC secure account to apply for a
- new study permit
- study permit extension
Sign in to the IRCC secure account
If you already have an application in the IRCC Portal
If you started an application for a study permit using the portal but you didn’t submit it, you’ll need to start a new application using the IRCC secure account.
If you already submitted your application using the IRCC Portal, you can continue using it to check the status of your application.
This online service will be unavailable from 12:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026, Eastern time, in order to perform system maintenance.
