Apply for an eTA or get help with your application
The Government of Canada will perform updates to its online system from 12:00 am to 6:00 am ET on February 24, 2026. The eTA application form will not be available at that time. We apologize for the inconvenience. To apply for an eTA, please return after 6:00 am ET on February 24.
If you do not need a visa to enter Canada, you will need an eTA to board your flight to Canada. eTA is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals flying to or transiting through Canada. Most applications are processed within minutes.
To apply, you must have a valid passport, a credit card, and an email address. You will also need a few minutes to complete the online form.

Visa Waiver Program travelers are required to have an ESTA. It costs $14 and is valid for two years.
