A delegation from the Canadian Forces Grievance Board, headed by the Board's Chairperson, Bruno Hamel, visited CFB Borden on October 5 and 6, 2010.

During the one and a half day visit, the Board's delegation met with senior leadership, staff officers and personnel, held briefing sessions about the Board's role and contribution to the CF grievance system and answered questions about the grievance process.

The delegation toured the base's facilities and met several unit commanders and staff at the CF School of Administration and Logistics, the CF Recruitment Group, the CF Fire and CBRN Academy, 16 Wing and the CF Health Services Training Centre.

The Board's wrapped up its visit on October 6th following a lunch with the base commander, Colonel Louis Meloche.

Other members of the Board's delegation were the vice-chairperson, Jim Price, Board members Denis Brazeau and Carina De Pellegrin, grievance officers Ted Benson and Alan Rigby, as well as the communications manager, Najwa Asmar.

"The Board members, grievance officers and I were particularly pleased to have had the opportunity during the visit to exchange information and explore ideas about issues and concerns related to complaint resolution,” said the Chairperson. "At Borden, we met some exceptional personnel and we saw first hand the base's leadership commitment to conflict resolution and improved conditions of service," he added.
