During a ceremony that took place on May 22, 2013 at the Victoria Hall in Ottawa, Sylvie Lemay, CFGB’s Manager of Human Resources, was awarded the 2012 Michelle C. Comeau Human Resources Team Leadership Award, as one of the Executive Board members of the Personnel Advisory Group (PAG). The award recognizes leadership and excellence in human resources management in the federal public service.

Ms. Lemay received the award in recognition of her leadership on the PAG which allows the heads of human resources of small departments and agencies to obtain information on government initiatives, share best practices and harmonize the implementation of their mandates with the overall direction of government.

It is a tremendous honor to receive this award. Information sharing is a vital element in today’s work environment. By sharing our success stories, as well as talking about our challenges with our colleagues, we are doing our part in maintaining a strong and well-adjusted Public Service, capable of foreseeing and addressing the evolving needs of Canadians, now and in the future, she said.

The PAG is a network for Heads of HR of small departments and agencies with approximately 100 members. The other two award recipients and co-chairs of PAG are Helen McIntosh, Director General, Human Resources at the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and Maureen Munhall, Director, Human Resources Management at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
