Today, the Honourable Darren Fisher, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence announced, on behalf of the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, the recent award of a $60.6 million contract to Pomerleau of Bedford, N.S., for the first package of work in Phase 2 of the North Park Armoury rehabilitation and modernization project.
The Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) have confirmed the identification of a previously unknown Second World War soldier’s grave in Holten Canadian War Cemetery, the Netherlands, as that of Private Arthur Vanance. The identity was confirmed through historical and archival research.
On February 28, the Canada-Brazil Defence Cooperation Agreement went into force, following the official ratification by both Governments. This agreement enhances the strong defence ties between Canada and Brazil and solidifies continued cooperation to support regional peace and security.
The Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, will be in Iqaluit to announce progress on increasing the Canadian Armed Forces' presence and readiness across the Arctic and the North.
