Members of the media are invited to join the Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Public Safety for a special event demonstrating the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA’s) work to tackle the smuggling of firearms into Canada. Following the tour and demonstrations, Minister Mendicino will take questions from media.
The CBSA is now providing travellers the option to submit their customs and immigration declaration up to 72 hours in advance of their arrival in Canada through ArriveCAN.

Today, the CBSA in British Columbia (B.C.), announced that it has made two significant seizures of “ghost guns” in the B.C. Interior, following interceptions at international mail centres.

The Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Public Safety will host a media opportunity in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, to demonstrate some of the ways that the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) prevents smuggling of firearms into Canada.
His Holiness Pope Francis will visit Canada from July 24 to July 29, with activities planned in the Edmonton area, the Quebec City area and in Iqaluit. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) anticipates that this event will attract many travellers to Canada.
