The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will hold a public hearing on May 4 or 5, 2016 in Ottawa, ON, to consider an application from Hydro-Québec for a 10-year licence to continue activities related to the preparation for the decommissioning of the Gentilly-2 nuclear facility that is currently in a safe storage state. Gentilly-2 is located near Bécancour, QC.

A team of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts completed today a two-week International Physical Protection Advisory Service (IPPAS) mission to review national nuclear security practices in Canada by submitting a preliminary report to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
