On March 16, 2021, at approximately 9:15 A.M. inmate Pierre Sylvestre escaped from the Pê Sâkâstêw Centre, a minimum security federal institution. At approximately 10:45 A.M. on March 16, 2021, Pierre Sylvestre was apprehended by police.
On March 5, 2021, correctional officers in the medium security unit of Dorchester Penitentiary intercepted an inmate who was attempting to bring contraband into the institution.
On March 9, 2021, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, contraband and unauthorized items were seized at the Regional Reception Centre, a federal multi-level security institution.

On February 24, 2021, at about 8:00 p.m., as a result of the vigilance of staff members, a package containing contraband and unauthorized items was seized at Kent Institution, a federal maximum security institution.
Today, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) announced an update on its Penitentiary Farm Program, which runs at Joyceville and Collins Bay Institutions in Kingston, Ontario. Offenders involved in the program have had the opportunity to learn technical, transferable and soft skills through their involvement in on-the-job and vocational training associated with the farming operations.
On February 25, 2021, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, two packages containing unauthorized items were seized at Atlantic Institution, a maximum security federal institution.
On February 26, 2021, at approximately 7:00 pm, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, contraband was seized on the perimeter of Collins Bay institution, a multi-level security facility.
On February 28, 2021, at approximately 7:45pm, three staff members were assaulted at Grand Valley Institution, a multi-level security federal institution. The injured staff members were evaluated and treated at an outside hospital.
