We, the Ministers of Defence of the enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Host Nations, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and the respective Framework Nations, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Germany reaffirm our commitment to protecting our populations and those of our Allies. We will continue to significantly strengthen the Deterrence and Defence of the Baltic Region as part of NATO’s Collective Defence obligations.

The United States and Canada co-hosted the Western Hemisphere Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) Workshop from January 24-26, 2023, at U.S. Southern Command’s headquarters in Florida. This event, the Western Hemisphere’s premier PSI workshop, is designed to enhance the region’s weapons of mass destruction (WMD) counter-proliferation capacity and long-term commitment to the Proliferation Security Initiative.
On 19 October 2022, the Military Police laid service infraction charges against three Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Officers in regards to a “Call-Sign Review Board” event at 409 Tactical F Squadron, 4 Wing Cold Lake, on 22 June 2022.
On October 2, 2022, Vice-Admiral Bob Auchterlonie, Commander Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC) relieved the Executive Officer of His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Kingston of their duties as a result of an alleged incident of inappropriate conduct of a sexualized nature that took place during a port visit in Lisbon, Portugal, while deployed on Operation REASSURANCE. The allegations have not been proven and an investigation into this incident is ongoing.
As members of the Canadian Armed Forces mourn the passing of our Commander-in-Chief, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, we are also compelled to reflect on her remarkable legacy of devotion to duty and selfless service.
