March 28, 2022 – The Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, will host Canada’s Together for Learning Summit: Engaging Displaced Youth to Transform Education, taking place March 30-31. At the Summit, Minister Sajjan will engage with youth and other partners on advancing inclusive and quality education, gender equality, as well as technology and innovation for displaced children and youth in low- and middle-income countries.

Effective immediately, Canada is imposing sanctions against the following individuals and entities in relation to the coup perpetrated by Myanmar’s armed forces on February 1, 2021.
The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced Canada is imposing targeted sanctions under the Special Economic Measures (Burma) Regulations against individuals and entities responsible for procuring and supplying arms and military equipment to the military regime in Myanmar, as well as the Commander of the Air Force.

Every year, tuberculosis (TB) kills 1.5 million people, despite being both preventable and curable. Although it kills more people than any other infectious disease, except COVID-19, TB is largely neglected because it disproportionally affects the Global South. Last year, more than four million people globally with TB diagnoses were missed by health services, fueling preventable deaths.
