We, the Foreign Ministers of Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Republic of Korea and the United Kingdom, express our grave concern over legislation currently under consideration by the Israeli Knesset, aimed at revoking the privileges and immunities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East [UNRWA], forbidding any contact between Israeli state entities, officials and UNRWA, and prohibiting any UNRWA presence within Israel.
The conference will focus on three objectives: reaffirming the need for a diplomatic solution to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, mobilizing the international community to address the urgent needs for protection and emergency relief for the Lebanese people and exploring strategies to enhance support for Lebanon’s institutions, including the Lebanese Armed Forces, which play a crucial role in ensuring the country’s internal stability.

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced that Canada, together with co-organizers Norway and Ukraine, will host the Ministerial Conference on the Human Dimension of Ukraine's 10-Point Peace Formula on October 30-31, 2024.
