NFB arrives at MIPCOM with bold new content, signed deals

The NFB will be at MIPCOM (October 5‒8), the world's entertainment content market, with a strong fall lineup that includes acclaimed releases, just launched at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), as well as a slate of just-signed deals.

Five National Film Board of Canada (NFB) interactive projects, including two co-productions, will be part of the programming lineup for I LOVE TRANSMEDIA, the digital culture festival that starts tomorrow at the Gaîté lyrique arts centre in Paris. HIGHRISE, Bear 71, A Journal of Insomnia, Interactive Haiku, and Way to Go will be shown in a retrospective exhibition of 12 interactive works entitled 2005‒2015: 10 Years of Web Creation, one of the festival's events. The fourth edition will also include a presentation of student projects and industry panels and conferences. I LOVE TRANSMEDIA runs from October 1–4, 2015.

The NFB will make a strong showing at the 44th Festival du nouveau cinéma (FNC), taking place from October 7 to 18, 2015, with 11 films and interactive works in the official selection, including 5 in the running in the three main competition categories: "Focus – Feature Film," "Nouvelles écritures," and "Focus – Short Film." The NFB will also play a major role at FNC Pro (October 13 to 15), with four presentations for industry professionals, and one workshop and two animated shorts in the "P'tits Loups" program.
