Following the decision by the Government of New Brunswick to cease implementation of its provincial fuel charge, the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, issued the following statement
We, the Ministers of Defence of the enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Host Nations, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and the respective Framework Nations, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Germany reaffirm our commitment to protecting our populations and those of our Allies. We will continue to significantly strengthen the Deterrence and Defence of the Baltic Region as part of NATO’s Collective Defence obligations.

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement to mark the second anniversary of the launch of the Declaration Against Arbitrary Detention in State-to-State Relations: “Two years ago today, Canada launched the Declaration Against Arbitrary Detention in State-to-State Relations as part of an international effort to deter and put an end to the practice of arbitrary arrest, detention and sentencing of individuals for leverage over another state.
We, the participating States of the International Partnership against Impunity for the Use of Chemical Weapons, stand together to preserve the international standards and norms against the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere, under any circumstances.
