On this World Diabetes Day, the Government of Canada is raising awareness of an often-overlooked risk to Canadians’ health. Approximately 3.4 million Canadians are living with one of the three main types of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes, which is preventable, is the most common form of diabetes, accounting for approximately 90% of diabetes cases in adults.

We share the concerns of parents and caregivers about their inability to find infant and children’s acetaminophen and ibuprofen. These products are essential for families, caregivers, and health care professionals to reduce fever and pain. Today, we are announcing that we have secured foreign supply of children’s acetaminophen that will be available for sale at retail and in community pharmacies in the coming weeks.
Chronic pain is defined as pain that persists longer than 3 months. One in five Canadians, or nearly 8 million people, live with chronic pain. When not effectively managed, pain can have significant negative impacts on many aspects of an individual’s life and on the lives of those around them.
