Skilled trades jobs are essential to ensure our homes, businesses and public spaces are safe, functional and well maintained. The Government of Canada is investing in apprenticeship training to grow a larger, certified, diverse and inclusive trades workforce.
The Honourable Élisabeth Brière, Minister of Veteran Affairs, Minister responsible for the Canada Revenue Agency and Member of Parliament for Sherbrooke, on behalf of the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, will announce a significant step in the recapitalization project of the Sherbrooke armouries. She will be joined by The Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Member of Parliament for Compton-Stanstead.

Today, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, along with the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Culture and Identity, Parks Canada and Quebec Lieutenant, announced more than $16 million in funding for four tree-planting projects that will bring environmental, health and social benefits to both urban and rural communities across the province of Quebec.
On March 18, 2025, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, the Honourable Patty Hajdu, and the Honourable Gary Anandasangaree announced over $11 million to support fifteen clean energy projects in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Quebec. These initiatives were funded mainly under Natural Resources Canada’s Clean Energy for Rural and Remote Communities (CERRC) program.
