Today, the Government of Canada, the Government of British Columbia and LNG Canada reached agreement on enhanced investment co-operation and actions to collectively progress closure of final items to support a potential 2026 Final Investment Decision (FID) of LNG Canada’s proposed Phase 2 expansion, a key national and provincial priority project, which was referred by the Prime Minister to the Major Projects Office in September 2025.

Over the last two days, Canada’s Federal/Provincial/Territorial Ministers Responsible for Seniors Forum held productive discussions on key priorities to support current and future generations of older Canadians. The meeting was co-chaired by the Honourable Stephanie McLean, Secretary of State (Seniors), and the Honourable John Main, Premier of Nunavut and Minister responsible for Seniors.
Canada’s government continues to take stronger action to protect victims and survivors of crime through legislative reform and funding to support the provision of services to victims of crime.
The Government of Canada is providing approximately $50 million annually in project based funding to support initiatives that enhance services for victims of crime and their families.

These projects will advance new low-carbon wood technologies; expand the use of mass timber in construction; support Indigenous groups and forest sector businesses; increase the capacity of manufacturers to add more value to wood products; and diversify Canada’s export markets for forest products.
