Today, the Honourable Marjorie Michel, Minister of Health, announced new temporary controls under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for three substances that are at risk of entering the illegal drug supply. The new controls come into force on June 5, 2026, for a period of one year.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an inquiry (NQ-2026-001) today to determine whether the dumping of certain oil and gas well casing, originating in or exported from Austria, has caused injury or retardation, or is threatening to cause injury. This final injury inquiry was initiated further to a notice received from the Canada Border Services Agency stating that a preliminary determination had been made respecting the dumping of the above mentioned goods.
