On November 14, 2024, at the Longueuil courthouse, landscaping company 9242-6451 Québec inc. pleaded guilty to one count of violating the prohibitions set out in the Emergency Order for the Protection of the Western Chorus Frog Great Lakes / St. Lawrence—Canadian Shield Population (Longueuil), in violation of the Species at Risk Act.
Today, the Governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador signed the National Strategy for Drugs for Rare Disease (DRD) agreement to invest a total amount of over $22 million over three years to improve access to new drugs for rare diseases for its residents and to support enhanced access to existing drugs, early diagnosis, and screening for rare diseases.
The Government of Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador signed an amendment to the Aging with Dignity Agreement, providing Newfoundland and Labrador access to more than $25 million in new funding to support Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and related professions. This funding is being provided over five years (2024-25 to 2028-29), extending the existing Aging with Dignity (AWD) Agreement by one year.
