The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), will make an important announcement in support of made-in-Canada solutions to strengthen the zero-emissions vehicle sector.
Through Canada’s renewed Oceans Protection Plan, Fisheries and Oceans Canada has previously funded three University of Guelph projects focused on studying the impacts of diluted bitumen exposure on Pacific salmon. This research is important to help prepare for and respond to potential oil spills in areas where salmon live.
Pacific salmon play an enormous cultural, economic and environmental role on the West Coast of Canada. These fish have complex life cycles which include migrating between freshwater and marine environments. Protecting Pacific salmon species and aquatic ecosystems in Canada remains at the forefront of our priorities.
On November 13 and 14, Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut Jenni Gibbons will be in Vancouver to talk about the Artemis II mission, for which she is the Canadian backup astronaut. During this mission, CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen will become the first Canadian to fly around the Moon.
Quebec, Quebec - On behalf of the President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Transport, the Honourable Anita Anand, the Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Quebec Lieutenant, the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, will make an announcement about green shipping corridors. He will be accompanied by Mario Girard, president and CEO of the Port of Québec.
