On July 11, 2023, the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development, together with the Honourable Nate Glubish, Alberta’s Minister of Technology and Innovation, announced over $96 million in combined federal and provincial funding to bring high-speed Internet access to over 10,000 homes in rural and remote communities across Alberta.
