In response to these challenging events and as part of Budget 2022 measures, Indigenous Services Canada, the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA) and Métis Capital Corporations are supporting Indigenous small and medium-size enterprises by forgiving up to 50 per cent of the COVID Indigenous Business Initiative loans, which provided much needed assistance during the pandemic.

This summit brought together First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, tribal councils, organizations and leaders, as well as front-line service providers, to share best practices and build new collaborations to improve mental wellness services to Indigenous people.

Please be advised that a National Summit on Indigenous Mental Wellness will take place in Toronto on Friday, September 23. This summit will bring together Indigenous partners and front-line community experts to share and learn from the best mental health and wellness practices across the country. This summit aims to help community partners strengthen their networks of expertise and ultimately improve the service delivery of mental wellness supports, substance use services and suicide prevention in Indigenous communities.
