Vice-Admiral Mark Norman, Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy, issued the following statement today in response to the Chief Review Services evaluation of Naval Forces:
DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia ¿ On Wednesday October 15th, 2014 the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Regional Minister for Nova Scotia, will accept the CCGS Captain Goddard M.S.M. for the Canadian Coast Guard fleet on behalf of the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. This event will also mark the successful completion of the contract with Irving Shipbuilding Inc. to build the nine Mid-Shore Patrol Vessels.

The funding will allow ONC to transform the oceanographic data it collects into navigational safety information that will help vessel operators and others avoid navigational hazards and prevent marine accidents.
