May, 2014 As part of a $106 million investment in small craft harbours across the country, the Government of Canada will provide $9.5 million to repair and maintain fishing harbours in Prince Edward Island. The $106 million in funding includes $66 million in regular program funding for the Small Craft Harbours Program in 2014-15 and $40 million over two years from Economic Action Plan 2014.

At West Point harbour, the major projects being undertaken are reconstruction of a breakwater and construction of a service area, being carried out over two years.
