June 25, 2014 - Ottawa - Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander announced that with the help of a new online interactive map, individuals across Canada will be able to find a citizenship ceremony being held on Canada Day in their area.
The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages and Minister Responsible for Manitoba, was joined by the Honourable Stan Struthers, Minister of Municipal Government and Frances Smee, Reeve of the Rural Municipality or Rosser, today to announce that the Government of Canada has conditionally set aside up to $14.5 million toward Phase I of the Cartier Regional Water Co-Operative Expansion Project, including up to $12.1 million under the New Building Canada Fund. This project will serve CentrePort Canada and communities located in the municipalities of Cartier, Grey, Headingley, Portage la Prairie, Rockwood, Rosser, St. Francois Xavier and the Headingley Correctional Centre (HCC).

Event participants discussed Canada's skills challenges, found points of consensus on skills shortages and identified best practices and priorities for action
On November 8, 2013 the Vladykov was conducting water samples around the Bay d'Espoir area and had secured for the night in the closest port of McCallum (an isolated community). Around 11:00 p.m. the Commanding Officer was awoken by a man on the wharf saying that his mother had had a possible stroke and he needed their assistance as there were no medical personnel or facilities available in McCallum
