Last month, over 1,290,000 travellers entered Canada through our five lower mainland ports of entry: Boundary Bay, Douglas, Pacific Highway, Aldergrove and Abbotsford-Huntingdon. Over 44,000 commercial vehicles were processed at the commercial crossings at Pacific Highway, Aldergrove and Abbotsford-Huntingdon.
Organizers of the Stan Rogers Folk Festival say it is full speed ahead on plans for StanFest 2015 after last year's event was cancelled due to inclement weather from Hurricane Arthur. In an effort to ensure the revenue loss resulting from the last-minute cancellation would not impede the future of the festival, the Government of Canada, along with suppliers, media and fans have come together to ensure the Festival will continue to be a significant attraction for years to come.
Residents of Meaford will benefit from improvements to Grandview Drive and Susan Street, thanks to joint funding from the Governments of Canada and Ontario through the Small Communities Fund.

Over 27,400 workers in Ontario are receiving training to fill available jobs thanks to funding provided through the Canada Job Grant. The announcement was made today by the Honourable Pierre Poilievre, Minister of Employment and Social Development, and the Honourable Greg Rickford, Member of Parliament for Kenora, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario. To date, over 2,700 employers have been approved for funding to train new or current employees in Ontario.
