Today, FedDev Ontario Minister Gary Goodyear announced an investment of up to $20-million that will advance the commercialization of new products and services in key growth sectors. The Minister made the announcement at the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) Discovery Conference prior to a High Performance Computing session that included a panel discussion on Big Data and Analytics. Today's discussions also highlighted some of the initiatives of the Economic Action Plan 2015, including renewed support for innovation, small business growth and additional investments to strengthen the manufacturing sector.

I am very pleased to be here today at the Ontario Centres of Excellence Discovery conference, standing among a diverse and talented group of people. Today is a great day to showcase and acknowledge the work of our skilled researchers, academics and innovators and our very resourceful entrepreneurs and business leaders. You should all be very proud of your contributions to growing our innovation ecosystem here in Canada.
The Government of Canada has been working over the last several years with different levels of government, key stakeholders, different sectors of industry and the international community to develop Canadian approaches to combat antimicrobial resistance.
Health services in Canada are primarily delivered by the provinces and territories. To promote better access to healthcare in First Nations communities and to improve the overall level of health of First Nations and Inuit, the federal government through Health Canada works with First Nations and Inuit partners to provide or fund effective, sustainable, and culturally-appropriate health programs and services.
