The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, took the opportunity while attending today's ceremony marking the arrival of the first international cruise ship in Gaspé to announce the awarding of non-repayable contributions totalling $920,863 to serve mainly for infrastructure development to accommodate large-capacity cruise ships in the region. These projects will generate overall investments of $3,099,182 on the peninsula.

Canada's Environment Minister Jim Prentice announced today that the proposed Bute Inlet Hydroelectric Project located about 150 km north of Powell River in British Columbia will undergo an environmental assessment by a federal review panel. The Minister's decision of May 5, 2009, follows a request from the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Parmalat Canada Inc. are warning people with allergies to milk proteins not to consume Sensational Soy Smooth Original and Sensational Soy Classic Vanilla described below. The affected products may contain milk protein which is not declared on the label.
