Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaƫlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will preside over an Order of Canada investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall, on Friday, May 15, 2009, at 10:30 a.m.
Media are invited to attend a Change of Command Ceremony on May 13, 2009, between Vice-Admiral Bruce Donaldson and Vice-Admiral Dean McFadden. Vice-Admiral Donaldson, previously Director of Staff for the Strategic Joint Staff, will replace Vice-Admiral McFadden as Commander Canada Command. Vice-Admiral McFadden will assume the duties of Chief of the Maritime Staff later this summer. The Chief of the Defence Staff, General Walt Natynczyk, will preside over the ceremony.

The Public Health Agency of Canada has posted today's updated national case numbers of H1N1 flu virus (human swine flu) infections in Canada, as reported by the provincial and territorial health authorities.
A delegation of eight Atlantic Canadian companies and four organizations from the biotechnology and life science industry will travel to Atlanta, Georgia, to participate in BIO International, from May 18-21, 2009. The Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), announced today, an investment of $122,160 in support of this mission.
The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service (CFNIS), the investigative arm of the Canadian Forces Military Police, has concluded its investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of Afghan male children by Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan interpreters employed by the Canadian Forces (CF) in Afghanistan.
