Canadian Navy to Escort World Food Programme Ships

The Government of Canada is deploying the frigate HMCS Ville de Québec to the coastal region of Somalia for the next few weeks to conduct naval escorts of World Food Programme ships carrying life-saving supplies to the area. The government is acting on a request from the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and UN International Maritime Organization. We are currently seeking to receive formal authorization from the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia to escort World Food Programme ships into their territorial waters.

Canadian Forces and Partners Operate in the Eastern Arctic

Zero-emissions, electric low-speed trucks can now be marketed across Canada

OTTAWA - With an updated federal definition of low-speed vehicles (LSVs), manufacturers of small LSV trucks can now begin to market them across Canada, announced the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities today. These low-speed trucks are designed for use such as grounds keeping, landscaping, and in certain industrial and institutional settings such as campuses and resorts, where they can be operated safely.
