OTTAWA - The Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, today co-hosted the forest sector roundtable Paths to a Prosperous Future, Innovation and Markets with John Weaver, Chairman of the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) and FPInnovations. The discussion brought together representatives of government, industry and the research community to build upon the actions taken in the last two federal budgets to create a prosperous future for Canada's forest sector.
In a short ceremony held today in Kandahar Airfield (KAF), Brigadier-General Denis Thompson assumed command of Joint Task Force Afghanistan (JTF-Afg), succeeding Brigadier-General Guy Laroche who departs Afghanistan after 10 months in command. The change of command was conducted in the presence of Lieutenant-General Michel Gauthier, commander of Canadian Expeditionary Force Command (CEFCOM).
