Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander and Industry Minister James Moore announced today that Canada will start accepting applications for the Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program on January 28, 2015.
The lockdown put in place at Edmonton Institution on January 19, 2015 has ended and an exceptional search has been completed. The institution has resumed its normal operations.
Today, Chris Alexander, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, on behalf of Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, announced Canada's support for a development project focused on maximizing economic benefits for people in Burkina Faso. Minister Alexander made the announcement during his opening remarks at the 4th annual International Forum, hosted by the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) and the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI).
Canada is contributing $5.74 million (2014–2019) to the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI) for the Support for Women Rice Parboilers project in Burkina Faso. The project aims to improve the productivity and competitiveness of the rice value chain to better respond to market demands and customer needs, as well as support the professionalization of women rice steamers. Project activities include:
