The Honourable Senator, Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu, on behalf of the Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Denis Lebel, and the Member of the National Assembly for Laporte and Quebec Caucus Chair, Nicole Ménard, on behalf of Quebec's Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Pierre Moreau, are pleased to announce that 20 Estrie communities will receive $21,621,492 over the next five years under the new federal-provincial Gas Tax Fund agreement and from the Government of Quebec's contribution for the completion of priority infrastructure projects. Under the federal Gas Tax Fund and the contribution from the Government of Quebec, financial support for municipal infrastructure in Quebec will amount to $2.67 billion over the next five years.

Today, the Government of Canada and Leduc County announced that funding is being set aside to extend the Nisku Spine Road project. This project represents a portion of the first of four construction phases to build a local road that, when completed, will become a major transportation corridor within the Greater Edmonton Capital Region.
