A National Film Board of Canada (NFB) film in the Focus – Short Film program of the 44th Festival du nouveau cinéma (FNC) received an award during the festival's closing ceremony on October 17. Theodore Ushev's Blood Manifesto won the Prix créativité, which is presented by MAtv and awarded to the most original short film in the Focus competition. The jury was composed of Daniel Ebner, Mike Plante and Seigo Tono.
