Backgrounder: Canada and Ontario invest in clean water, wastewater and storm water projects in 37 First Nation communities across the province
Backgrounder
Joint federal, provincial, municipal and First Nation community funding through the Investing in Canada plan will support 37 clean water, wastewater and storm water projects in Ontario. These investments will ensure access to safe, drinkable water and better environmental protection for First Nation communities across Ontario.
The Government of Canada is investing over $69.5 million in these projects through the Green Infrastructure Stream. The Government of Ontario is contributing more than $16.9 million and First Nation communities are providing over $5.8 million towards the projects.
