Meet Camille. As a PacifiCan Corporate Administrative Services Assistant, when she’s not behind the scenes helping people make this province a better place to live, work and play, she spends her time with family, going for walks and reading.

How did you arrive at PacifiCan?

Previous to PacifiCan I was working in the private sector as a Building Manager. I worked independently and gained a lot of experience handling office and administrative tasks. After about a decade, I was getting a bit lonely working alone so I turned towards government opportunities and PacifiCan was just the right fit. I had heard that PacifiCan was a great place to work, and I was eager to be a part of a team.

What interested you about PacifiCan?

More than anything, I was really interested in being a part of a team and working collaboratively. I was also interested in working in an organization that helps people. It didn’t hurt that PacifiCan had such a good reputation (as Western Economic Diversification at that time)! I have lived in B.C. my whole life and I like the idea of working towards making my own community a better and stronger place.

What do you do in a typical day?

A typical day for me includes processing invoices, managing staff lists, IDs and access cards, and assisting with staff onboarding/offboarding.

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

The most rewarding thing for me is probably working with my team and knowing that we are contributing behind the scenes toward helping people around the province to make this a better place to live, work and play.
