Pacifican actions

Action: Complete PacifiCan’s Indigenous Economic Inclusion Framework.

  • Work is underway to outline how PacifiCan is building its internal capacity and enhancing Indigenous participation in current programs and services. The work will include:
    • development of an Indigenous Economic Inclusion Framework
    • engagement with Indigenous stakeholders on current program suite, including PacifiCan’s Business Acceleration Pilot (BizAP)
    • other related internal policy and program development work that could inform the future of IBDS

Action: Make improvements to IBDS program design and delivery, including:

  • Establish objectives:
    • Examine and determine program scope and priorities
    • Consider specific target groups and activities
  • Establish performance measurement framework:
    • Align indicators and reporting to defined program objectives/priorities
    • Define data collection and reporting methodology for any new indicators
  • Examine service provider options:
    • Consider potential new service providers in addition to examining existing providers
    • Develop an engagement and selection approach
  • Consider investment levels and how to leverage other programs and partners
  • Enhance awareness and improve communication and collaboration

  • Better understanding of PacifiCan’s role within the Indigenous business development ecosystem in British Columbia
  • Better understanding of how the IBDS could contribute to PacifiCan’s strategic goal of inclusive growth
  • Improved IBDS effectiveness
  • Alignment of IBDS with the agency’s Indigenous Economic Inclusion Framework
