CSC-PBC National Joint Board of Investigation – Eustachio Gallese

On February 3, 2020 the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and Parole Board of Canada (PBC) convened a National Joint Board of Investigation (BOI) to examine the circumstances that led to the tragic murder of a 22-year-old woman in Sainte-Foy, Quebec on January 22, 2020 by an offender on day parole.

The BOI was co-chaired by two community members, independent from CSC and PBC, both of whom are distinguished criminologists. The BOI final report and recommendations were released publicly on January 21, 2021.

The BOI included five recommendations for CSC related to offender community supervision.

There were no recommendations for the PBC.
