Jean Holloway

Dr. Jean Holloway is a Research Associate at the University of Ottawa in the Department of Geography, Environment, and Geomatics. She is interested in how climate change impacts various elements of the cryosphere in the Canadian Arctic and subarctic.

After completing her PhD, she joined the Environment, Society, and Policy Group (ESPG) at the University of Ottawa. Here she studied changes in Arctic shipping activity and its related human and environmental impacts with the goal to produce research results that inform policies.

Dr. Holloway is a member of the Board of Directors of ArcticNet. She was the former Chair of the Canadian National Committee of the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS Canada).

Degrees

  • PhD in the Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics at the University of Ottawa, with a focus on determining the impacts of forest fires on permafrost in the boreal forest of Canada.
