Message from the Clerk to all public servants on Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation

Statements

In 2017, Canada will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation and of the federal public service. This is an exciting time and a great opportunity to come together to celebrate our shared values, our achievements, our majestic environment and our place in the world.

Throughout 2017, you will be invited to participate in events and activities in your department, celebrate what it means to be Canadian, and explore our country’s national parks, heritage spaces and history. We all have something unique and important to contribute in our workplaces and in our communities. I encourage everyone to participate in the many national and local celebrations that will take place across the country.

Today marks the twenty-five day countdown. To kick it all off, mark December 31, 2016 on your calendars! New Year’s Eve celebrations featuring memorable activities and exciting performances will be held in 19 communities across the country.

As we prepare for the year-long celebration, let us not forget our contributions to Canada as public servants. We look forward to a bright future for all Canadians.

Be part of this exceptional occasion. Find out more by visiting the Canada 150 website and the GCintranet.
