Holiday Message to Public Servants

As 2017 comes to an end, we would like to acknowledge the significant efforts each of you made in advancing the government’s agenda and serving Canadians.

2017 marked Canada’s 150^th anniversary celebrations that inspired Canadians from every province and territory. During this historic year, you developed policies, designed and delivered important programs to Canadians and represented and defended Canada’s interests on the world stage. In doing so, you helped strengthen Canada’s position as one of the most open, tolerant and inclusive countries in the world. You should be proud that Canada is ranked by the International Civil Service Effectiveness Index as having the most effective and efficient public service in the world.

During this holiday season, we hope you take time to relax and spend quality time with your family and friends. Please also take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary service you and your colleagues have provided to Canadians.
