1 2008 Population Estimates:  Total population >1 year of age = 33 million; total paediatric population (1-<12) = 4 million; total adult population (12+) = 29 million

² P/T Proportions Used: 2008 total population census data, with the exception of YK, NT, NU where actual paediatric population data were used due to a higher birth rate and lower life expectancy in those jurisdictions. This resulted in a slightly higher total NAS quantity for paediatric oseltamivir and zanamivir

³ There are already approx. 2 million paediatric oseltamivir capsules already in the NAS and distributed to P/Ts on a per capita basis, the table reflects the remaining 7.2 million doses to be purchased.

⁴ NT adult oseltamivir stock does not expire until 2011. Options to be discussed with PWGSC in order to meet paediatric targets through Exchange program, etc.

⁵ Calculations are based on actual paediatric population for the 3 northern jurisdictions rather than based on national population proportions given their unique demographics (i.e. higher proportion of children)
