List of upper receivers: for individuals

The following upper receivers were classified as prohibited devices under the Criminal Code in May 2020.

Upper receivers are not eligible for compensation for individual firearm owners under the Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program. To comply with the law, owners must safely dispose of their upper receivers before the amnesty period ends on October 30, 2026, or risk criminal liability for the illegal possession of a prohibited firearm.

Any items turned in to the program that are not included on the list of firearms for individuals will not be returned and will be destroyed without compensation.

See the list of firearms: for individuals (including lower receivers) that are eligible for compensation.
