System-Wide Staffing Audit (underway)

This audit will measure the overall compliance and performance of the federal public service staffing system against legislative, regulatory and policy requirements. It will also examine whether hiring managers adhere to the direction established by the deputy head on the choice of appointment process (i.e., the use of advertised or non-advertised appointment processes).

The sample will cover internal and external advertised and non-advertised appointment processes from 19 medium and large organizations.

Audit of Employment Equity Representation in Acting Appointments (underway)

This audit will determine whether the four designated employment equity groups are proportionately represented in acting appointments. It will also examine what systems and practices organizations have in place to promote access to appointments for employment equity groups and the extent to which hiring managers consider employment equity when making acting appointments.

The sample will cover internal advertised and non-advertised acting appointment processes from 14 medium and large organizations.

Audit of Biases and Barriers for Equity-Seeking Groups (planning underway)

The PSC will be undertaking its first audit of biases and barriers in 2022. This audit will focus on the pre-assessment process.

Audit of Employment Equity Representation (not yet started)

This audit will determine whether the four designated employment equity groups are proportionately represented in appointment processes. The focus of the audit is yet to be determined.

The PSC will be undertaking its second audit of biases and barriers in 2023. This audit will focus on assessment accommodation.
